iPad is a smash hit
This video of young men smashing up a brand new iPad with a baseball bat has become a controversial internet hit. More than 500,000 people have watched the clip showing the $500 iPad being demolished in the car park of the electronics shop where it was purchased - on the day of its release. Thousands of YouTube users have angrily commented on the clip since it appeared on the site. Others have suggested it was viral marketing for Apple. The stunt was the idea of Casper, a 29-year-old from Pittsburgh, who requested only his first name be identified. "I love Apple but I don't work for Apple," he said. "We did this to be the first people on the planet to break the iPad. "We waited in line from 2am-10am, bought it, opened it, walked right outside and smashed it."
